Notaire fees in France when buying property

WORKING out the notaire’s fees for a property sale can be a tricky thing but help is at hand.

Because not only does the notaire receive a fee but he is also responsible for collecting civil taxes as well.

But on the Calculer vos frais de notaires website there is a handy tool that allows you to work out the fees involved after you key in a price.

For example, if your house is going to cost €100000 then pop that in the box and hit the yellow arrow.

It turns up an estimated figure of €7100,00 and shows that 80 percent of that goes to the public treasury.

Plus if you have bought the house through a notaire the tool also provides you with an estimate of the commission involved.

So for my €100000 house if I had gone through the notaire the commission would total €4357,48.

With the professional fees amounting to €3643,38 of that total and €714,10 in VAT (TVA).

It is a simple and well laid out service that will provide you with a good estimate of the legal costs involved.
