HERE are some quick pointers on asking and understanding the time, as well as the days of the week and months of the year.
Very handy for working out when the markets are open!
Telling what time it is:
What time is it?: Quelle heure est il?
It’s two o’clock: Il est deux heures
Two-fifteen: Deux heures et quart
Two-thirty: Deux heure et demie
Two forty-five: Trois heures moins le quart
Three-ten: Trois heures dix
Two-fifty: Trois heures moins dix
It’s midnight: Il est minuit
Noon: Midi
One thing to remember in France is that many people use the 24 hour clock.
So times in the afternoon will be, for example, dix-huit heure vingt.
Which is 18:20, or twenty minutes past six.
Days of the week:
Monday: Lundi
Tuesday: Mardi
Wednesday: Mercredi
Thursday: Jeudi
Friday: Vendredi
Saturday: Samedi
Sunday: Dimanche
Months of the year

June: Juin
July: Juillet
August: Aout
September: Septembre
