ALTHOUGH it is possible to visit many of the chateaux found across France, both their restoration and day-to-day upkeep can be a real challenge.
But that is what Marnie de Vanssay has taken on by bringing the family home of her husband, which dates from the 14th Century, back to life.
The Chateau de la Barre now plays host to visitors from around the world after major restoration was undertaken which drew on the experience of artisans and skills from times past.
Marnie also offers some hints and tips on tracking down a property in France and an insight into life on the ‘little Loir’.
