Business tips and leasebacks

Frenchlife_square0608_5_13HERE are a couple of interesting stories about running a business in France and the ins-and-outs of leaseback schemes.

Both articles feature in the online version of The Times and the first looks at the experiences and pitfalls of start-up businesses.

Unfortunately, it is still very common for people to arrive in France and sink all their money into a business project they have little experience in.

And the article highlights the number of businesses set-up in the departments of the Haute Vienne and the Dordogne, and the number that fail.

The underlying theme of the piece is that you need to get a grip of the language and think seriously about the business you want to start.

If it would be challenging to set-up in the UK, doing it in France is not going to be any easier.

And the second article offers simple advice on leaseback schemes and features a family who have bought a property in Provence, south east France.

Leaseback schemes can be a useful way of earning a steady income, with minimum effort on your behalf, but you also need to be wary.

The article goes on to say that you need to check over the figures quoted by the company selling the properties and check the terms if you want to sell-up early.
